realising i won’t be in this job forever
i work for company a and it was bought by company b. it’s business as usual but it’s been hinted that the jobs that are protected are company b. this means i would have this job for another ~3 years if i’m lucky. it’s the first time where i really feel like i’m in a dead end job. there’s now nowhere for me to progress upwards in my role and there aren’t any roles that don’t involve me travelling to a big city at least twice a week. i will now ride this out until i do something about it. three years is a lot of time but for the first time i feel a little uneasy. at least i still have a roof over my head and a job to go to :)
